Hello, Wild Readers!
I’m Ashley, also known as Dea in the Machina around the internet. Things have been very busy with school and work, and I’ve been pulled in a million different directions, so I apologize for just now writing a welcome post. I wanted to create an update to give you an idea of where things are.
First, my novelette, “The Fox Bride”, is available on Amazon as an eBook: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PJ46M1Z.
Second, my collection of horror folklore stories is currently on hold. With a thesis project to start on and a lot of work with classes, I don’t have as much time to dedicate to it as I would like. It’s still going to happen, just not as quickly as I initially hoped.
Third, I am preparing to start work on my thesis novel for my Master of Fine Arts. There are two ideas I’m debating between, both of which will be written eventually, but I can only do one for the thesis. This will be a full-length novel, although I expect to have to do a rewrite post-school in order to reach the usual fantasy length. We can only make our novels so long for the thesis, unfortunately. I won’t be able to share specifics until I’m closer to publishing, but just know that I am hard at work to bring you more to read.
In the meantime, I’m writing a few short pieces to submit to different publications and will update as those become available. You can keep up with my fan stories, like “Goddess of Secrets” and “A Sorceress’s Choice”, on Archive of Our Own (https://archiveofourown.org/users/DeaInTheMachina). You can also get sneak peeks at some of my other projects on my Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/thedeainthemachina).

As always, thanks for reading.
